Bouabdelli School is a long-established educational institution in Tunisia, with origins dating back to 1936. Recognised for its academic quality and commitment to enriching learning opportunities, the school partnered with hihilulu to introduce Mandarin Chinese to primary school pupils through an engaging after-school programme.
In partnership with hihilulu, Bouabdelli offers a Chinese After-School Club for primary pupils, with 1 hour 30 minute session once a week. The programme creates a lively and supportive environment where children discover Mandarin through fun, interaction, and cultural exploration.
Based on the hihilulu Atelier® Beginner Curriculum, the programme develops listening, speaking, vocabulary, and early character awareness through songs, games, flashcards, stories, and themed activities. It also introduces the Snowballing Method, hihilulu’s structured approach to Chinese character learning, which helps children understand how characters are built step by step in a simple and accessible way.
Teaching follows a multi-sensory and interactive approach designed to keep young learners engaged throughout the session. At Bouabdelli, pupils responded especially well to the lively rhythm of the classes, including songs, interactive activities, and flashcard-based learning, which created strong enthusiasm from the very first sessions.
Delivered by hihilulu-certified Chinese teachers and supported by the hihilulu Atelier® platform and resources, the programme gives pupils a playful, structured, and culturally enriching first experience of Mandarin, building confidence and a positive foundation for future language learning.
